A positive draw (1-1) prevailed over the Basque confrontation in which Deportivo Alaves hosted Real Sociedad today, Tuesday, in the 19th round of the Spanish League.
The two goals of the match, hosted by Reale Arena in San Sebastian, came in the second half.
Although the hosts played incompletely after goalkeeper Alex Remiro was sent off in the 36th minute, Alaves' lead goal did not come until the 76th minute from a penalty kick by Luis Rioja.
The Sociedad players repeatedly tried to rectify the situation with the goal of an equalizer, which they achieved in the final minutes of stoppage time thanks to midfielder Martin Zobimendi so that the two teams eventually shared the draw point.
Sociedad continued its series of draws in La Liga for the third round in a row, which is its eighth draw since the beginning of the season, raising its score to 32 points, occupying sixth place, and refusing to approach the Champions League seating area.
Alaves did not succeed in maintaining the three points that would have returned them to the path of victories after an absence in the last 4 rounds (a draw and three consecutive defeats).
Alaves now has 17 points, temporarily ranked 15th.
