Djokovic set for revenge against Alcaraz in Wimbledon final

Novak Djokovic beat Italian underdog Lorenzo Musetti to reach the Wimbledon final and face defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in a repeat of last year's final.

The 37-year-old impressed at Wimbledon with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 win to win a record eighth men's singles title.

The 22-year-old Musetti had a chance to regain the break in the decider but hit a forehand into the net and bowed his head in his hands as he knew the match was ending.

Djokovic made sure his opponent had no more chances.

Under pressure, Musetti hit a long shot and Djokovic rushed to the net, knowing he had reached his 37th Grand Slam final and 10th at Wimbledon.

The Serb then threw his racket over his shoulder and mimed playing the violin, a gesture aimed at his six-year-old daughter Tara, who could be seen smiling in television footage.

However, some fans began to boo as they felt it was disrespectful for Djokovic to hold the same celebration after his last-16 win over Holger Rooney.

Last year, Alcaraz defeated Djokovic in this wonderful match 1:6, 7:6 (8:6), 6:1, 3:6, 6:4. This epic five-set match lasted 4 hours and 42 minutes and is considered one of the best matches in the tournament's history.

The two will meet again on Sunday in what could be another stunning chapter in Wimbledon history.
