Villarreal signs a former Manchester United player


Villarreal officially announced today, Saturday, the return of Ivorian defender Eric Bailly to its ranks, in a free transfer, after terminating his contract with his club Besiktas.

Villarreal issued a statement on its official website, confirming that Bailly had signed a contract with the club until June 30, 2025, to return to his former home.

The statement added that Bailly has passed the medical examinations, and will begin his second experience by joining the team’s training, tomorrow, Sunday.


Bailly previously played for Villarreal from January 2015 until July 2016, before joining Manchester United in a deal amounting to 38 million euros.


Villarreal ranks 13th in the Spanish League table, with 19 points.
