Enrique's "brief response" to Mbappe's exit from Saint-Germain

The head coach of France's top team, Paris Saint-Germain, Luis Enrique, declined to comment on rumors that Kylian Mbappe, the captain of the national team, would be leaving the French capital club at the end of the current campaign,  when he spoke to journalists, on Friday, saying that he could not say anything. Something in this regard.

Mbappe will leave Saint-Germain at the end of his current contract, a person close to the team told Reuters on Friday. However, all the specifics and terms of the move have not yet been finalized, so it may take several months before an official announcement is made.

It was evident from the numerous media stories that have been covering the situation since yesterday, Thursday, that the team coach's first query would contain a request to validate Mbappe's departure; nonetheless, his brief answer was insufficient.

During the press conference, Enrique answered, "No, I can't say anything." The coach said that this was not something that could be discussed when he was asked if he was worried about the player's commitment to the squad for the balance of the season.

He added: "I will try to put an end to this matter. I have no comments to make."

He continued: “The concerned parties have not said anything publicly yet. Kylian Mbappe has not said anything publicly... When the two parties speak, I will express my opinion.”

Mbappe joined Saint-Germain in 2017 when he was 18 years old, coming from Monaco for 180 million euros ($193.91 million), making him the second most expensive player in the world after Brazilian Neymar, who joined Saint-Germain in the same month for 222 million euros.

In his final season with Monaco, Mbappe took home the French League trophy. Over the next six seasons, he won five of them with Saint-Germain. Currently leading the league, Saint-Germain is 11 points ahead of its nearest rival.
