Mbappe sets a historic record with Paris Saint-Germain

Frenchman Kylian Mbappé scored his 22nd goal in 23 matches in various competitions this season, after a goal against Toulouse on Wednesday evening in the Champions Cup match at the Parc des Princes, which ended with a 2-0 victory for Paris Saint-Germain.

Mbappe's goal against Toulouse was his 111th goal at the Parc des Princes, making him the all-time top scorer for Paris Saint-Germain in this particular stadium after he was equal with Uruguayan Edinson Cavani.

Paris Saint-Germain won its first title under the leadership of its new Spanish coach, Luis Enrique, by defeating Toulouse 2-0 on Wednesday evening in the Champions Cup match at the Parc des Princes Stadium.

The Champions Cup traditionally brings together the league champion and the cup champion, and the title is the eleventh for the French capital team in the last 22 editions.

During the match, his international winger, Ousmane Dembélé, returned to Saint-Germain’s ranks after being absent from the field last month due to an injury to the posterior muscles of his thigh. At the same time, Mbappe played in the center-forward position and Bradley Barkola occupied the left-wing position.

Saint-Germain opened the scoring early through Lee Kang-in after a joint game between the Portuguese Vitinha and Dembele, who passed a cross that the South Korean followed into the net with his left hand from close range in the third minute.

Mbappe added the second goal when he received a ball inside the area, passed a defender, and scored into the net in the 44th minute.

At the beginning of the second half, Moroccan right-back Achraf Hakimi, who was playing his last match with his team before joining his country's national team participating in the African Cup of Nations, hit the right post of Toulouse's goal from a direct free kick from 30 meters in the 56th minute.

There were many opportunities from both sides, without either of them being able to change the result.
