Kalvin Phillips: West Ham and Manchester City reach a loan agreement for the England midfield player

England midfielder Kalvin Phillips will join West Ham on a temporary loan from Manchester City for the remainder of the campaign.

When Phillips, 28, moved from Leeds to City in July 2022 as part of a £45 million transfer, he inked a six-year contract.

But under Pep Guardiola, he has not fared well, making only two starts this season across all competitions.

It now seems that Phillips, who is also of interest to Juventus, will have a medical later this week in London.
Personal terms shouldn't be an issue because the Hammers will pay Phillips' salary, and there will presumably be a chance to make the move permanent.

Although many teams had shown interest in Phillips, Newcastle, and others have decided not to pursue him due to City's demand for a substantial loan fee.

After spending a warm-weather training camp in Abu Dhabi, Phillips, who is still a member of Gareth Southgate's England team, is returning to the UK today along with the rest of the City team.
