Villarreal's Spanish Cup match against Unionestas de Salamanca was not completed on Sunday at the start of extra time due to a power outage, leaving complete darkness in the stadium.
The third division team achieved a 1-1 draw at the end of regular time in front of about 6,000 spectators, forcing an extension.
The Spanish Football Federation said the match was postponed “due to a problem related to the lighting of the Reina Sofia stadium.”
On the other hand, Sevilla needed a late goal from Juanlo Sanchez to beat second-tier Racing Ferrol 2-1 and qualify for the round of 16, along with Athletic Bilbao, Osasuna, Mallorca, and Celta Vigo, who also beat competitors from the lower divisions on Sunday.
Barcelona will host Barbastro later, while defending champion Real Madrid will qualify on Saturday, along with Atletico Madrid.
