This is what Imam Ashour said about his injury as he left the hospital


Emam Ashour, the Egyptian national team player, left the hospital on Thursday and arrived at the team’s residence hotel in Abidjan after receiving treatment for a concussion he suffered during training on Wednesday.

Pictures of Ashour with the national team group at the hotel were circulating, and he looked to be doing well.

The Egyptian player suffered a concussion and was immediately transferred to a hospital in Côte d'Ivoire to receive treatment.

Ashour had earlier declared that he feared for his life due to a terrible injury he had sustained while exercising with his nation's national squad in the Ivorian capital of Abidjan. 

Ashour posted the following on his official Instagram page today, Thursday, along with a photo of himself from the hospital where he was receiving treatment: "Grateful for everything, God... After my fall yesterday, I saw things that God does not write to anyone and I was on the verge of death.

"I thank everyone who stood next to me, the Egyptian team doctors, the players, and the administrative staff," the Pharaohs midfield standout continued. "Nothing in the world is worth it, and life ends completely in an instant," he went on. Thank you for everything. alongside God's blessing, I'll be prepared to play in the African Cup of Nations matches alongside my colleagues." 

During the first round of the African Cup of Nations events, Imam Ashour, an Egyptian player, is regarded as one of the most notable members of the Egyptian national team. 

After placing second in Group B behind Cape Verde, the Pharaohs squad played three games in which they preserved a tie, allowing them to advance to the round of 16.

Next Sunday, the Egyptian national team will face the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the 2023 African Cup of Nations quarter-finals, Côte d'Ivoire.
