Roma coach Jose Mourinho revealed the fact that he is close
to taking over the leadership of the Brazilian national team during the coming
period.
Many names have been linked to the leadership of the Seleção
team during the past hours, led by Mourinho, after the first candidate to lead
Brazil, Carlo Ancelotti, renewed his contract with Real Madrid for another
season.
Mourinho said, in the press conference after his team
qualified for the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup by defeating Cremonese
(2-1): “No one contacted me or my agent from the Brazilian side to be the new
coach of Samba.”
It is noteworthy that Mourinho has a contract with Roma
until June 30, noting that he began his mission with Wolves in 2021.
On the other hand, the Brazilian national team is looking
for a new technical director, following the departure of Tite from his position
after being eliminated from the Qatar 2022 World Cup in the quarter-finals by
losing to Croatia on penalties.
Fernando Diniz has coached the Seleção temporarily
until now, in addition to his work as technical director of the Brazilian club
Fluminense.
