Arsenal finished their European Champions League campaign with a draw against PSV Einhoven

Ismail Sibari's attempt strikes the goal post of Arsenal.

Arsenal, making several alterations to its lineup, managed to secure a 1-1 draw against PSV Eindhoven, the current leaders of the Dutch League, in their Champions League encounter. Both teams have already secured their places in the Round of 16, concluding their campaign in Group Two. Eddie Nketiah scored for Arsenal three minutes before halftime, but PSV Eindhoven´s Jorbe Viertsen equalized five minutes into the second half, also hitting the post earlier in the game.

With Arsenal already securing the top spot in the group, their tally increased to 13 points from six matches, compared to PSV Eindhoven´s nine points. Third-placed Lens will proceed to compete in the Europa League.

Nketiah marked his first Champions League goal after receiving a pass from Reiss Nelson.  Nelson initiated the play from the right side, exchanging passes with Cédric before breaching the hosts´ defense.

Despite leading the local league with a significant margin, having won their first 15 matches of the season goal in the season, PSV Eindhoven nearly netted a second goal in the 66th minute. Ismail Sibari´s shot altered direction and struck the post. Arsenal also had a goal disallowed nine minutes before the match ended when Yakub Kivuri´s header was ruled offside by the referee.

In a last-minute attempt, Arsenal almost clinched victory, but the Eindhoven goalkeeper thwarted Leandro Trossard´a´s shot, and Kevior missed the rebound, shooting wide of the goal.

Mikel Arteta, the Arsenal coach, implemented eight changes to the team that suffered a loss against Aston Villa last Saturday, moving them away from the top spot in the English Premier League. Notably, Arsenal remains the only team to defeat PSV Eindhoven this season, achieving a 4-0 victory in London during the opening match of the group stage in September.
