Double Dragon Revive announced with an action-packed presentation

Arc System Works and Yuke's have officially announced Double Dragon Revive, a new 3D Beat 'em up based on the classic series.

Double Dragon Revive aims for more variety rather than being a "simple button masher," players must learn enemy patterns and discover the "most effective attack timing" to succeed. However, like the old games, you can still pick up weapons and utilize the environment to gain an advantage as Jimmy and Billy Lee make their way through hordes of enemies.

The game will see the controls "optimized for modern times," while the story focuses on the Lee brothers working together to fight "powerful enemies from their past," apparently including Roper and Apopo. Arc System Works employees with fighting game experience are overseeing the Yuke-led development.

Double Dragon Revive will launch in 2025 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5, and PC.
